THE EP SPACE

About the EP Space

The EP Space is a welcoming, friendly hub for sharing practical resources, ideas, and training developed through my work as a Chartered Educational and Child Psychologist.

Before becoming an EP, I worked as a careers advisor for young people with SEND in the Connexions Service. This was a transformative experience that immersed me in the world of 14–25 educational provision and exposed me to the systemic challenges faced by young people in this age group. At the time, very few Educational Psychologists worked with young people beyond the age of 14, due to the structure of the former SEN statement system, which typically ended at Year 11. This gap became a key motivator for me: to extend psychological support into transitions and preparation for adulthood.

I began my journey in Educational Psychology in 2009, qualified in 2014, and have since worked across several Local Authorities before establishing my own independent practice. I now work with a number of secondary schools and a Virtual School across five Local Authorities, developing strong, long-term relationships with each setting and tailoring my input to their needs. I am HCPC-registered and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

My core interests include ADHD, sensory needs, and preparation for adulthood – particularly where these intersect with the experiences of children and young people in care. I’ve always enjoyed designing resources and exploring creative ways of working with young people. Over time, I found myself building a library of tools that others might also find helpful.
One of my favourite aspects of the role is delivering training. I’m rarely happier than when facilitating reflective discussions around a topic I’ve researched – whether with SEND teams, pastoral staff, or foster carers. I often deliver bespoke, workshop-style training, and I’ve started recording these sessions so they can be accessed more widely – including here on The EP Space.
In addition to my professional role, I’m also a parent of two children – and I often benefit from testing out resources with them and gaining their input into the creation and design process.

At its heart, The EP Space exists to be helpful, inclusive and supportive. You’re welcome to explore and download free resources, shop for the Sensory Self: A Card Sort for Self-Expression, or access pre-recorded training sessions.
